A RESPONSIBLE AND SUPPORTIVE RELOCATION
A Major Transition for Modernized Facilities
To support its expanding operations, the company relocated its production tools to a state-of-the-art site in Venette over the summer. This shift involved the installation of new furniture and production equipment. Aiming to prioritize reuse, the management decided to donate existing items to associations nominated by employees themselves. An internal survey was conducted to collect contacts for organizations interested in receiving furniture donations. Through this initiative, furniture and kitchenware were provided to the SDIS (Fire and Rescue Service) in Verberie, fulfilling specific needs for emergency services. Additionally, the Lacroix-Saint-Ouen school association received furniture to enhance its administrative facilities.
Strengthened Support for Education and the Electronics Sector
As part of its partnership with Mireille-Grenet High School, Matra Électronique provided electronics equipment for the school’s electronics program. This donation complements a previous contribution of three component cabinets made in July. This initiative aims to bolster resources available to this public institution, which is dedicated to nurturing future talent for our industry.
Collaborating for Equipment Recycling and Rehabilitation
The company has also partnered with the Ergosanté Group and its subsidiary Manufacture des Cevennes, a French enterprise certified in Social and Solidarity Economy (ESS). By donating used office chairs, Matra Électronique directly supports the circular economy. Each chair undergoes thorough cleaning, with mechanisms and gas lifts replaced, armrests restored, and upholstery refurbished. The reconditioned chairs are then resold at reduced prices. This reconditioning process results in a CO₂ savings of 42 kg per chair compared to manufacturing a new one.
“By giving these items a second life, we contribute to waste reduction and support local organizations. This donation project, accompanying our historic relocation, reflects our commitment to advancing the industry in an ethical and responsible manner,” said Sophie CASTAINGT, Communication Manager and Project Horizon Facilities Coordinator.
Matra Électronique sets an example by demonstrating that technological innovation and social responsibility can go hand-in-hand, leaving a lasting positive impact.
